I hadn't noticed before, but are you working on watercolor paper? The texture appears rough... At least in the photo. Does this mean there are paint brushes coming out in the near future? I really like this concept. I'm anxious to see what you do with it.
This is sketched on watercolor paper. I had a plan, but you know these things take on a life of their own. Watercolor really isn't my friend, I may transfer it and use acrylic. I am always wanting to tackle all the mediums till comfortable, watercolor has set me back. I will post it when finished. Thanks John- your last VSS post was AWESOME. You make it look so simple!
Thank you, Kimberly, for the kind words. But sadly, there are still days I find myself petrified at the thought of laying paint onto a drawing... If you only knew how many pieces I've ruined... But curling up into the fetal position in the corner of the room for a few hours does seem to help with the mourning process :) Fortunately for me, I inherited this undying trait from my dad: When I dork something up, I just regroup, start over, and hope for different results... What's the definition of insanity again??

DeleteThere is no such thing as sanity. Insanity is the norm :)
ReplyDeleteSanity= too low expectations
Being insane raises the bar!
Sometimes a good sketch needs to stay untouched. Perfect as is.
